■Y/N's POV■

I pack some Mochi and hands it to the customer in front of me.

Y/N: thank you for coming, please come again.

Cust: of course Y/N chan, say hello to Ieri san okay  I hope she'll get better soon

Y/N smiles at her regular customer and thanked her. When the customer leaves, Y/N sighs and folds her sleeves.

Y/N: okay, now let's restock the display... Honda san, do we have more Daifuku and Sakura mochi?

Honda: yes, I've just made some daifuku mochi, and we still have some Sakura mochi...

Y/N: okay...

I go to the food storeroom and pick up three crates of mochi to fill the display. I walk backward because the storeroom is so narrow. I hear the bell above the door ring.

Y/N: ah- welcome, a minute

I can't see the person who just walked in because I'm facing away from them and still can't turn around yet. When I'm on a wider area and turns around, the crates in my hands are being taken away from me.

Huh? Honda san is in the backroom... who?

When I look up my breath hitches, bright orange hair, and shining eyes. The person in front of me beams a big smile.

Hinata: good afternoon, L/N~

Hinata san?

Y/N: H-Hinata san... wha- um welcome..

Hinata: um, where should I put these?

I forgot he holds the crates...

Y/N: aah, please put it on the counter...

Hinata san walks to the counter and puts the crates on it.

Hinata: sorry for coming so suddenly...

About a week ago I told Hinata san about my address, but he never said when will he visit.

Y/N: n-no no it's alright!

Just then

Honda: the daifuku mochi is rea- oh, Y/N chan's guest?

Hinata san bows at Honda san and introduces himself.

Hinata: hello, I'm Hinata Shoyo...

Honda san walks closer and stands in front of Hinata san.

Honda: I don't know our Y/N chan finally found a man for he-

Y/N: Honda san! It's not like that...

I look up at Hinata san who looks confused.

Y/N: ah haha, I'm sorry Honda san likes to talk weirdly...

Hinata: ah, it's okay... am I interrupted your job L/N?

Huh?

Before I could say anything

Honda: no no, you came at the right time, it's Y/N chan's lunch break... you two could go out and eat or can just let Y/N chan cook for the two of you...

Y/N: wha- but Honda san...

Honda: go go now, the youngster could rest first, so I can rest longer later haha...

Honda san goes to the counter and arranging the mochi on the display. I look up at Hinata san and decided to invite him inside.

Y/N: uh Hinata san... um, the store is connected to my house... do you want to eat lunch with here? But uh if you prefer food from a restaurant we can-

Hinata: no!

I look up at him and he smiles at me.

Hinata: I'd be happy to taste your home made cooking...

■Hinata's POV■

I'm sitting at the dining table, eyes wandering around L/N's house. This place is very tidy but kind of too quiet.

She said she lives with her mom... is she away at the moment?

Just then food is served in front of me. It's Japanese style home cooked, and looks really good.

Hinata: whoa!

Y/N: um... Hinata san, these are all I can make at the moment..  um... please enjoy it...

L/N looks down at her lap as she says this, there's a streak of pink tint on her cheeks.

She's so cute...

Hinata: well, I'll enjoy the food...

I take a bite of the meals in front of me and it tastes so good.

Hinata: it's really good L/N! You're a great cook

L/N's eyes are widened before they turn soft, a small smile appears on her face.

Y/N: thank goodness... I'm glad you like it...

Dub Dub

Good job on praising her Shoyo...

We eat together and after I finish my food, Y/N stands up and walks to the fridge. She then returns and places a plate of tasty looking mochi in front of me.

Y/N: um Hinata san, this is our Mochi ice cream... there's an ice cream filling inside... please try it...

I pick up the fork and knife and take a bite. The sweet cold ice cream and sticky mochi fill my mouth.

Hinata: aaah, this is so good L/N!

She looks happy when I say this.

Y/N: thank you... this one is a menu that mom and I created... but it can only be eaten on the spot..

Oh right, her mom...

Hinata: right, L/N where is your mom? I want to say hello and thank her for letting me eat here...

L/N looks startled but then smiles.

Y/N: um... mom is at the hospital...

L/N tells me about her mom who's ill and has to stay at the hospital because she's currently not in a good condition.

Hinata: I'm sorry L/N...

Y/N: n-no please don't be! She has been ill since long ago...

So the medicines aren't for light illness...

She puts on a strong face and looks pretty while smiling...

■3rd Person POV■

Y/N: H-Hinata san... you really don't have t-

Hinata: no this is fun... I don't have things to do at the moment anyway...

Hinata is helping to brings crates from here and there. After lunch he decided he wants to stay longer but doesn't want to interrupt the job, so he decided to help.

Honda: haha, let him Y/N chan... look at all of his muscle, lifting up these crates are nothing... right Shoyo chan

Hinata: yes Honda san, it's like I'm having fun while working out...

Hinata is a bright person, he's close with Honda right away. Y/N watches as Hinata helps out at the store. Her heart is fluttering at the sight of her new friend who happily helps at her store.

It's 6 p.m now, Hinata is drinking a glass of water when he hears Honda speaks to Y/N.

Honda: Y/N chan shouldn't you be going now?

Y/N: ah... right!

Y/N and Hinata meet eyes.

Y/N: ah, Hinata san... thank you so much for helping out at the store... um I need to go to the hospital... you probably should go home and re-

Hinata: can I come?

Y/N: huh?

Y/N was startled when she hears this. Honda came from the backroom and taps Y/N's back.

Honda: Ieri would be happy to have another visitor... you should take him there...

Y/N looks up at Hinata who's waiting for Y/N's answer. Y/N likes Hinata's presence, it's calming. She thinks it's not bad to introduce a new friend to her mom.

Y/N: o-okay...

Hinata and Y/N walk in the Hospital hallway, Y/N tells Hinata about her mom's detailed condition. Hinata is in awe of how Y/N runs the store and takes care of her mom.

Hinata: L/N...

Y/N who's about to open the door to her mother's room looks back.

Hinata: you're an admirable woman...

Y/N's heart is beating faster looking at Hinata's smile. She turns her head around to hide her blushing face.

Y/N: a-ah... th-thank you... um.. well... this is mom's room...

Y/N opens the door and her mother looks at the people who walk in. She was surprised to see another person behind her daughter but then smile.

Ieri: I see you have a company today sweetie...

Y/N and Hinata stand next to Ieri's bed and Y/N looks flustered.

Y/N: mom... un this is Hinata Shoyo san... he was the one who helped me when I was robbed...

Hinata smiles at Ieri and introduces himself.

Hinata: good evening L/N san... I'm Hinata Shoyo, a pleasure to meet you...

Ieri could see how bright Hinata is and by looking at Y/N's gesture, she could tell that Hinata could be the person Y/N has been exchanging texts with. She smiles at the orange haired man.

Ieri: nice to meet you Hinata... I'm L/N Ieri... Y/N's mom... sorry for being on the hospital bed on our first meet...

Hinata: no please, I hope you'll get better soon... just focus on your recovery...

The three talks and Ieri tells Hinata about Y/N. The younger woman was embarrassed and flustered while the orange haired man was happy to learn about Y/N.

From how Ieri tells him about Y/N, he couldn't help but think that Y/N is even more amazing than he already knows.

When the visiting time is over Hinata kindly excuses himself.

Hinata: well L/N san, it's nice to talk to you...

Ieri: no, I'm happy to be visited by such a bright young man... thank you for helping Y/N...

Y/N: um well, mom... I'll come again tomorrow okay...

Ieri: yes...

Hinata: can I, come and visit you again?

As Hinata and Y/N walkout, Hinata insisted that he wants to walk her home so now they're walking side by side.

Hinata looks at the girl who walks next to him. Y/N looks up at Hinata with flushed cheeks. Hinata stares at her pink flushed cheeks and red lips that formed a beautiful smile.

Y/N: thank you so much for today... mom... looks happier...

His heart beats faster and his chest feels stuffy with warms feelings. Kageyama's words from the other day came to his mind.

Today...

Hinata made up his mind...

He will try to pursue the girl next to him...
